While I like to pick my records from a big variety of styles within electronic dance music, I have a soft spot for dominant, rolling basslines. No harm done if a track comes with some extra oomph, as long as it does not get cheesy – admittedly, this happens to be a fine line and can get quite tricky at times.

Likely, this approach is what distinguishes myself more than anything else from many other DJs, which often appear limited in scope. Why would they pick another random tech house track that adds absolutely nothing to their set? Since I never got a satisfying answer, I simply started spinning records myself. That was back in 2003.

To this day I am not a big fan of digital DJing, which is why I stick to vinyl and CDs.
